How to start off on the wrong foot with your new apartment building:

1. Leasing office promises to FedEx your lease by Thursday, or Friday at the latest. Lease must be signed, notarized, and received by Tuesday, June 30th.
2. Leasing office emails at 5:30 Friday night to say you should receive your lease by noon Saturday.
3. Current leasing office is not open on weekends, meaning package cannot be picked up until Monday, June 29th.
4. Hope for early morning delivery, so there's enough time to leave work, pick up package at home, get to a notary public, and go to FedEx office to overnight lease back to leasing office.
5. If afternoon delivery, screwed.

But you know what? It's their fault, so if they don't get the lease in time, tough shit. I'm moving in anyway.

Fun little coincidence.

Lead article in the "Ready to Rent Special Advertising Section" in the 6/27 Washington Post is titled "Dealing With A Stressful Move".

(Nothing special in the actual article, basically just some generic advice.)
