* Step 1: Put your playlist on random.
* Step 2: Post the first line from the first 10 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
* Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

I did the same thing she did and did 20 just for fun, and also took out instrumentals and showtunes.

2. I'm through with standing in line/To clubs I'll never get in/It's like the bottom of the ninth/And I'm never gonna win "Rockstar," Nickelback
3. From hundreds of miles, yeah, you cry like a baby/You plead with me, shout, scream, tell me I'm staying "I Know I Know I Know," Tegan & Sara
4. I promised you the world again/Everything within my hands/All the riches one could dream/They will come from me
5. It's yet to be determined/But the air is thick/And my hope is feeling worn
6. Sometimes I'm up/Sometimes I'm down/Other times I'm probably found/Somewhere between a pair of huge/Speakers pushed by vacuum tubes
7. I was bruised and battered/And I couldn't tell what I felt/I was unrecognizable to myself
8. Well, Jimmy played harmonica in the pub where I was born/He played it from the night time to the peaceful early morn "Sally MacLennane," The Pogues
9. When you feel all alone/And the world has turned its back on you/Give me a moment please to tame your wild, wild heart "Crash and Burn," Savage Garden
10. And the caravan is on its way/I can hear the merry gypsies play/Mama, Mama, look at Emma Rose/She's a-playin' with the radio "Caravan," Van Morrison
11. You have led me to the sadness/I have carried this pain/On a back bruised, nearly broken/I am crying out to you
12. No, it don't come easy/No, it don't come fast/Lock me up inside your garden/Take me to the riverside
13. He was a hard-headed man/He was brutally handsome, and she was terminally pretty "Life in the Fast Lane," The Eagles
14. I was a little too tall/Could've used a few pounds/Tight pants points hardly renowned "Night Moves," Bob Seger
15. This is not helping me at all/What you are doing here/In the name of God and love/It's the distribution of fear
16. Load up on guns/Bring your friends/It's fun to lose/And to pretend "Smells Like Teen Spirit," Nirvana
17. Lover, I'm on the street/Gonna go where the bright lights/And the big city meet/With a red guitar on fire "Desire," U2
18. Spinning, laughing, dancing to her favorite song/A little girl with nothing wrong is all alone "Seven Years," Norah Jones
19. It's behind you and/It's in your face/Close your eyes

1) The Who, 'Pinball Wizard' (although your version might be the movie soundtrack one with Elton John)
9) Savage Garden, 'Crash and Burn' (my wife is actually playing it at this very second - how's that for coincidence?)
13) The Eagles, 'Life in the Fast Lane'
16) Nirvana, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'
17) U2, 'Desire'

You cringed at 'Crash and Burn'? Why? It's a total classic! Far better than, for instance, 'Desire', which was a massive disappointment to me, when it came out, after the really good stuff that U2 had done on 'The Unforgettable Fire' and 'The Joshua Tree'.

The really cringeworthy Savage Garden song is 'The Animal Song'. I mean 'Animals and children tell the truth, they never lie'. Really? Darren and Daniel obviously never met my cat.

Seriously? Rattle and Hum a "disappointment"? Although, you're in the UK, aren't you. It wasn't as well received over there, as I recall. Us yanks loved it.

I don't know about the South of England but in the North, and in the Celtic Fringe, it was widely regarded as an abandonment of their Celtic roots in favour of a mediocre attempt to be American. 'Achtung Baby' at least acquitted them of that charge but, unfortunately, just wasn't very good. They didn't win us back until 'All That You Can't Leave Behind'.

Oooh, ouch! 'Achtung Baby' is my desert island album... the one I absolutely can't live without! But I do love 'All That You Can't Leave Behind', too.

lol... all hail the iPod! My tastes as a teen were based primarily on what would annoy my parents the most. Fortunately, I outgrew that, but even as I matured I went in a wildly different direction. My chickens are coming home to roost, however, now that my daughter is making her own decisions about music.
