So, Emmy nominations were announced today. And since I very rarely care about the actual nominations, which are weird and sometimes random but far too often just plain bad, I've made my own poll, in which we will consider some VERY important and overlooked categories.

Poll #13905 Emmy Poll

I don't watch many of these shows, but I had to throw in my hat for Cobie Smulders (wasted in a comedy).

Any of your readers who vote for Elizabeth Moss in that category are high. I'm just saying.

Also Peter Dinklage, for all his talents, I don't think ANYBODY knows what kind of accent he's doing.

Oh my god, really? I can't pay attention to anything else that's going on when she's in the scene--I'm that distracted by her accent. I think part of the problem is that about two-thirds of the vowels she gets exactly right, and the rest are pure American, so she ends up with this CRAZY thing that I find myself picking apart...and then I've missed half the scene. ;)

There was a bit in the first episode where someone says: "You're from Sydney? It sounds like you are." And I was like: "BWAHAHAHA."

DON'T ASK ME, I WAS LISTENING TO THE ACCENT. :D

No, but I think she was supposed to actually be from Sydney. I think.

I've seen very few of these, though it was enough to vote in almost every category.

I'd like to write in the cast of Portlandia for best wigs, though. Totally serious. It's such a weird thing for sketch comedy to excel at but they do.

I don't know who any of the people are for best Fake American Accent, lol. I would vote Hugh Dancy.

I voted for Peter Dinklage for Best Fake Non-American Accent, but I guess he's not a good choice, lol, based on the comments? Someone on my flist from the UK said they at first thought Tatiana Maslany's Sarah character was Australian, so I'm not sure how good a job she's doing, either. (In retrospect, Americans shouldn't vote on this question, because how would we know.)

I watch... none of these shows, and as such recognise only the Whedonverse people and Nina and Tatiana -- Tatiana only from my f'list too.

Wait, this was way harder than it should have been. I had to vote against so many people I love! Meanwhile, the actual Emmys are a depressing slew of why.

ALL THE BROADWAY ACTRESSES, I WANT THEM ALL. Also, Alan Cumming gets my bet accent vote, only because he can do every accent ever, and he's fucking SCOTTISH, of all things. Love.

Krysta was so wasted, which I will never be over. And UGHHH THE HOUR. NEVER FORGET. I WILL NEVER RECOVER. A lot of nevers in this melodramatic mini-paragraph.
