Did I mention that Showtime was doing a new series about the Catholic Church called Vatican? I probably didn't because I looked at it and went LOL. But OMG now Kyle Chandler is playing the lead so I WILL BE ALL OVER THAT LIKE WHITE ON BREAD.

That reminds me, the NY Times did a profile of Chandler's TV wife, Connie Britton, the other day. I want to be Connie Britton when I grow up, you guys. I love how she fought for her character on Nashville and refused to let it be all about Rayna aging and her career deteriorating. It was a rather shaky start - perhaps because they needed to pull back from the whole "Rayna needs to tour with Juliette to save her career" angle - but I kind of love where the show is these days. Scarlett and Gunnar are still probably the most interesting storyline, but things feel more music-oriented now that the mayoral election is over and Rayna and Juliette are actually on tour. And the songs continue to be excellent. Anyone else still watching?

In other TV news, I've started watching Justified. I'm two-thirds of the way through season 1 and... I'm not really feeling it? I've heard it gets leaps and bounds better in S2, but I could use some encouragement.

In what sense are you not feeling Justified? If you're not wild about the storylines, they get better, but if it's a character thing that might be a different story. I did have to start a few times before I got through all of season 1, though -- I enjoyed the individual episodes but it didn't have a lot of momentum until toward the end.

That's not that odd in this case -- it's not really an ensemble-y show, though if you're not into Boyd, well, there's a lot of Boyd coming. You MAY want to skip to the last couple episodes of season 1, and then go on to season 2 -- which among other things has more ladies, and gives Winona more to do.

Re: Nashville, I forgot to say -- I have been enjoying it, particularly now that it's more music focused (I've not seen the most recent episode, but the last few I saw were nice.) I don't much care for any of the male characters, so that's a bit of a drag, but worth watching for the ladies and the music.
