Topic for today comes from
mcmegan: Who was your favorite concert you've seen/who is your ultimate concert bucket lister?
Oooooh, favorite concert is a toss-up between (don't judge me) Hootie and the Blowfish and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
I must have been around 12 years old or so when I saw Hootie. And it was completely unexpected, too. We were on a family vacation in Charleston, which is where they're from, and I happened to spot a flyer for a concert that just happened to be on our last night there. And I begged and pleaded with my parents to see if we could get tickets, and we did, and I was SO EXCITED OMG because they were one of my favorite bands ever when I was twelvewhatever they still are. In fact, I still have the T-shirt I bought at that concert, even though it surely doesn't fit me anymore.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra was when I was in college, maybe? Or a little after, I'm not totally sure. Anyway, they do a tour every year during the Christmas season, and it just so happened that one of my dad's friends worked at the Wachovia Center (or whatever they're calling it these days) so we were able to get VIP tickets with an employee discount. If you've never seen them in concert, I totally recommend it, because they put on a spectacular show.
As for a bucket list... hmmmm, I'm not sure I really have one? I've never been a big concert person. In fact, most of the concerts I've been to, I stumbled upon without much planning, lol. So, you tell me - who MUST I see live? Who are you dying to see? And what was your favorite concert?
