Well, BtVS always sort of lurks in the background, since that's what most of us have in common, but in terms of what took up most of my attention this year, I'd have to say TVD (which... is basically all the same people, lol).

2. Your favourite films watched this year?
Hmmm, probably Never Let Me Go, Black Swan... and I feel like there's one I'm missing? The Social Network, perhaps?

3. Your favourite book(s) read this year?
The Hunger Games series.

4. Your greatest musical discovery?
Mumford & Sons (thanks ever_neutral!) and Admiral Fallow (thanks Chuck!).

5. What song will always remind you of 2011?
I dunno. Probably something from one of those two albums (see #4) but no one song in particular stands out.

6. Your favourite TV show(s) of the year?
Oh boy. Go here for a start...

7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Dexter, probably. It's hard to be disappointed when your expectations are already pretty low, so that's saying something...

Well, Zachary Levi forever owns that title, lol (it says so in the tags!). But in fictional characters, I also want to marry Ben Wyatt and Rory Williams.

Elena Gilbert, Erica Strange, and Mary Crawley.

9. Biggest tv squee moment(s) of the year?
MARY/MATTHEW IN THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. PONDS IN THE OTHER CHRISTMAS SPECIAL. EVERYTHING IN PARKS & REC. CARRIE/BRODY FACE-OFFS. DOCTOR ERICA. ELENA BEING AWESOME. CHUCK BEING AWESOME WITHOUT THE INTERSECT. CLEAN-FREAK DAMON. SALVATORESSSSSSS.

Uh... none, really?

OMG SO MANY.

12. Your biggest anticipation for the new year?
New TVD! That is probably the show I am most excited to come back from hiatus. And I'm super looking forward to season 2 of Shameless.

Dude. Crackfic idea! Damon starts a cleaning business and realizes that, once he's invited in, he can drop by his clients' houses for a snack whenever he's hungry. :)

I'm guess ing TVD is the vampire diaries? I found that on Netflix and put it in my queue since I've seen you talk about it, but haven't watched any yet. We just went through the first season (6 episodes) of the walking dead, and needed something else to watch as we wait for the new episodes, so we picked lost. Mayabe I should go back to the posts where you were watching it. Only watched about 7 episodes so far though.

Yes, TVD is The Vampire Diaries. And I fully recommend watching it, with the important caveat that the first half-dozen or so episodes SUCK MIGHTILY. You kind of just have to force your way through it, but once it picks up, it NEVER STOPS.

I kind of think Buffy comparisons do it a disservice, but the draw is similar - I'm not really interested in vampires as a genre (I have zero patience for Twilight or True Blood or any of the other vampire shows out there). I need more depth, shows that challenge the genre somehow. TVD feels pretty shallow early on, but once it settles in, it develops the kind of compelling characters that Buffy had.

Haha, oh Lost. I will be verrrrrry interested to hear what you think... It really depends how you watch it, whether you love it or hate it.

I watched the first couple episodes of true blood, since a friend of mine (who is into absolutely everything vampire- even awful ones) had them. I wasn't really impressed. Don't see what the big deal is. I kind of want to see twilight just to see how awful it is.

As for lost- so far I think most of the music is ridiculous. Like they're trying to make things 20 times more dramatic. It just makes me laugh. It's interesting so far, but also crazy. When they shot the hairy monster that was chasing them, I was tring to guess what it was. Seemed like a bear, so I jokingly say "polar bear!". Which it is. Which is ridiculous.

Hahahaha, yeah, I'm pretty sure I commented on the overly dramatic music in one of my Lost posts... it's so ridiculous.

And yeah, polar bear. Get used to that sort of thing. :)
