I finished the first book, and while I'm not as crazy about it as you are (and I'm still going WTF about the final muttation), I definitely see it's appeal to Buffy fans. I'm waiting on getting Catching Fire from the Library, so I'll tell you what I think when I read it. I am, however, excited to see the movie mostly because I want to see the production design and Woody Harrleson as Haymitch.
I won't say no to more meta, but I can't guarantee it will make me love Katniss like I love Buffy. Did you see my likes and dislikes post a week ago (it's okay if you didn't, no one did because it was Harry Potter night)? I used what I liked about The Hunger Games as some of my examples for my kinks.
