Galentine's Day!
Feb. 1st, 2013 11:16 amThinking of awesome things people have done for the love meme reminded me about Galentine's Day, which was SO MUCH FUN last year.
In the words of the adorable Leslie Knope, founder of Galentine's Day:
What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it breakfast-style. Ladies celebratin’ ladies... If you look inside your bags you will find a few things: A bouquet of hand crocheted flower pens, a mosaic portrait of each of you made from the crushed bottles of your favorite diet soda, and a personalized 5,000-word essay on why you are all so awesome.
In that spirit, this is my official Galentine’s Day party post! Galentine's Day is celebrated with frittatas (which you will have to take care of yourself), gifts and essays on why we're all awesome.
Since I am getting a late start this year, I'm a bit more limited in gifting, but here's the plan:
1. Comment with up to three screencaps of your choice. (Doesn't have to be a fandom I'm familiar with, since you're providing caps.)
2. If you don't know where to find screencaps, check my resources list for some options or let me know and I'll see what I can dig up.
3. I will make icons for each of you and post them on or around February 13.
4. Lady-profit!
You don't have to be on my flist (nor do you have to be a gal) to come to the party. If you can see this, you are invited! Happy (early) Galentine's Day!
