Music meme

Still working out the kinks on the RSS/access-only posts issue (i.e. it didn't work at all, so I searched around for a comm that might have the answer, found nothing, and filed a support request). In the meantime, let's do a meme!
Comment to this entry (if you want to) and I will give you a letter. Name 5 songs you love beginning with that letter.
(Or by all means comment if you have something to say even if you don't want to do it yourself.)
beer_good_foamy gave me the letter "E":
I'm kind of lazy, so I just sorted my iTunes by title and scrolled through the E's. I didn't actually have that many songs to choose from. I suppose I could try taxing my brain a bit more to come up with songs I don't have downloaded, lol, but who wants that?
The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby
It was sort of inevitable that something from the Beatles would make the cut, given that I went to a Beatles festival last weekend. :) I tried to give the list some variety, otherwise I could've also included "Eight Days a Week."
Avenue Q - Everyone's a Little Bit Racist
If you're not familiar with this show, I posted about it here. Basically, it is Sesame Street for grown-ups. There are puppets. Singing about racism (and sex and porn and having a purpose and how much it sucks to be a grown-up). What's not to love? For some reason, I could not get this song out of my head while I was writing my paper on racism in immigration policy, which did not make me terribly productive, lol.
Billy Joel - Everybody Loves You Now
I have a soft spot for old school Billy Joel. I like a lot of my parents' music, but I didn't get into the Beatles or Chicago or The Eagles or Simon and Garfunkel until high school. Billy Joel and James Taylor are who I remember listening to as a kid (fun fact: my first concert was James Taylor. I think I was eight years old). My parents had the actual records, but my dad made me a cassette tape of Songs in the Attic and Innocent Man, which I listened to over and over (and possibly made up dances to the songs, but I will not confirm that).
Next to Normal - Everything Else
Someday, I will do a legit post on this show, seeing as how it's my new username. :) In the meantime, know that it's a show about a dysfunctional family trying to hold it together. When I first listened to the soundtrack, I immediately identified with Natalie, the daughter, because of her piano-playing, her neurotic overachieverness, and the way she uses sarcasm as a defense mechanism. :)
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
Okay, there's a funny story with this one. See, when I was in high school, I had a great AP American History teacher. There was one kid in the class who for some unknown reason would not stop talking about Rocky. So finally, the teacher got fed up and made a bet with him - he had to get a certain grade on the next test or he was never allowed to mention Rocky again. If he made the grade, she had to let us watch Rocky IV (chosen because of its relevance to the Cold War, obviously, lol) in class. She lost the bet, and we watched Rocky IV at the end of the year.
When it came time for us to take our AP exam, she had us all come to her classroom beforehand and played "Eye of the Tiger" to get us pumped. It was pretty much awesome, and started a tradition of us playing that song before EVERY AP exam we took.

i do remember the "bless you" sign in the room where we took the test so no one had to talk when someone sneezed. ha.
