I'm with gabrielleabelle... but it really does help to have a diagnosis, and that usually means they at least have an idea on how to go about treating it.
Och, I'm sorry. I have lupus, so I know how hard it is to go through months of tests not knowing what's going on and getting a diagnosis like that at the end. If there's a support group in your area for Crohn's Disease or general autoimmune disorders in your area it might help, especially because people who've had it longer can give you better tips on how to manage it. Best wishes!
Here's hoping. I think I just need to keep reminding myself that "chronic" doesn't mean it's always gonna be this bad. Once I get things stabilized, it should be easier to manage.
Speaking as someone with boring chronic health problems - they do get easier to manage once you have the diagnosis and the treatment.
I have a close family friend with Crohn's and although she has had to make a lot of dietary modifications, she's very happy and it doesn't affect her too much these days. (She's 20 and was diagnosed at 9.)
Thanks! I'd kind of been preparing myself for it to be something chronic, but it's just weird to think about, having always been a healthy person. Hopefully it'll get better now that we know what it is.
Always good to get a diagnosis. I hope things will settle down once the conditions is properly managed. There are a couple of other people on my flist with Crohn's and they seem to have it reasonably under control.
There are probably LJ comms too where you might find more info.
Yeah, the internet is a great thing, when it comes to stuff like this. :) I'd kind of suspected it might be Crohn's, so I'd already been doing research. I only know one person in RL who's had it, and he was kind of an extreme case (multiple surgeries to remove parts of his intestines), so it's good to get some perspective.

But I'm glad you finally have a diagnosis, and I hope that with proper treatment you'll be feeling better soon.
More *hugs*
