I give up. My cat is officially smarter than me.

Two doses. That's how long it takes her to catch on to whatever sneaky method I come up with for getting her to take her pills. Just two. Tuna worked for two doses. Holding her down and shoving it down her throat worked not at all. Pill Pockets worked for two doses, but now she's caught on that she can just suck on it until the snacky coating dissolves and then spit the pill back out.

I am loath to drive all around the DC metro area looking for a place that sells the pill shooter, but I may just have to. We only have three more days of pills, so there's no sense in ordering it online, since it wouldn't get here in time.

In the meantime, I think I'm going to crack open the gelcap and see if I can mix the meds in with her food in a form that she can't spit out. Hopefully this won't kill her...

I bet pill pockets work better on dogs, who scarf down anything with food around it. LOL.

Of course, I wouldn't know about that either, having a dog who has tried to eat packing peanuts. She'll eat her pills "raw," just gulps them down.

Probably. I am about out of ideas. Last night I cracked open the pill (which at that point was pretty soggy from her sucking on it) and poured the meds directly into the Pill Pockets, which she ignored.

This morning, again, cracked open the pill and mixed it in with tuna, which she refused to eat. She's just a little brat, I guess.
