So I finally saw Iron Man 3

I KNOW I KNOW IT TOOK ME FOREVER BUT NOW I'VE SEEN IT AND WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT.

I feel like I need to watch it a couple more times before I actually have ~thoughts, though, lol, partly because the people in the theater were laughing so much that I know I missed some dialogue. (Goodness, the witty banter was coming fast and furious, wasn't it?)

But top-line reaction? LOVED IT. BEST IRON MAN YET. MAKES ME WANT TO CAPSLOCK ALL OVER. Also, GREATEST TROLLING OF A FANDOM EVER (which is another reason I want to watch it again).

Also-also, RDJ HOW SO PERFECT.



lol I so want to watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang again. RDJ/Shane Black is my OTP.

It was pretty damn awesome. I'm actually a little glad there won't be any more, because it's such a good stopping place for the character.

Okay: the minions! Yay, minions! Also, the damned adorable kid. That is a kid I can almost believe in. I loved the Tony/kid interaction. Was there a dog? Let's see RDJ act opposite a kid AND a dog and make it work. *\o/*

Is it actually the end, though? I know there was a lot of talk about it because RDJ's contract was up - and I think the movie was written so that it WOULD be a good ending in case they couldn't get him back - but now he's signed on for Avengers 2 and 3, so I wouldn't completely rule out an Iron Man 4. I agree, I think his character arc is pretty much complete, but when has that ever stopped Hollywood from making another sequel? :-P

LOL NO. You can skip IM2. It's not that good.

Really, you won't be missing anything important. (I forget, have you seen Avengers? Because that is way more relevant to IM3 than IM2. You at least need to know what happened to get Tony's PTSD.)

LOL the minions were HILARIOUS. And yeah, I was seriously side-eying reports of the kid, but it totally worked, mostly because Tony is the WORST at saying and doing inappropriate things in front of the kid. Tony/children FTW.

Also - I can't take credit for this because I saw it in someone else's reaction post, but when the kid keeps asking questions and poking at Tony's PTSD, how perfect is that? It's so reminiscent of what Tony was doing to Bruce in Avengers, and it's like a taste of his own medicine, lol, but it's obviously exactly what Tony needs because it's how he helps other people deal with their issues.

Iron Man 3 was awesome.

There's something wrong with the world when it's getting the same RT freshness percentage as Iron Man 2, while Star Trek Into Darkness gets 87%. (I so need another icon for the second paragraph of this post.)

That makes no sense! I haven't seen STID, but IM3 is WAAAAAY better than IM2.

Well, not the same score... apparently the latest RT score for Iron Man 3 is 78%. Still not high enough considering Iron Man 2 was 73%. The first one had 93%.
