Hey hey it's my birthday. Thus far, I have gotten a Veronica Mars movie and a salted caramel cupcake, so I'd say it's a pretty good one. :)
* Rob Thomas talks more extensively about the Veronica Mars movie and Kickstarter, and addresses some of the criticisms I mentioned in yesterday's post.
* And here's an interview with the guy whose $10,000 pledge won him a speaking role in the movie. I'm intrigued and kind of pleased that he did it because he wanted to support a crowd-funded movie, but I also kind of feel like that sort of reward ought to have gone to a fan who'd appreciate it?
* Unsurprisingly, the Veronica Mars success has started talk about a Chuck movie. And Zachary Levi isn't the only one to be inspired by Veronica.
* Leverage EPs John Rogers and Chris Downey on the Kickstarter criticisms and the economics of movie financing.
In non-VM related news:
* Smash has been exiled to Saturdays, aka the TV graveyard. Here's where it went wrong.
* A Q&A with the creator of The Americans, whom I didn't realize was a former CIA agent, but yeah, that makes sense, lol.
* What happens to Disney's princesses after the happily ever after?
