My 20 under the cut...
1. He's the one trying to kill her most of the time. She's just doing her job. Sometimes she really wants to kill him when he's being annoying, but her moral code won't let her. Buffy/Spike (pocochina)
2. He never had to try very hard - just threatening to kill her was enough to get what he wanted. Then he started trying to keep her alive, which also almost got her killed a few times. (He's kind of a fuck-up like that.) Damon/Elena (pocochina)
3. She killed him. Then he killed her. Then he tried to save her. Then she killed a lot of other people, so he set her on fire. Then they made up (sorta) and she killed herself. Angel/Darla (pocochina)
4. He tried to kill her because he was under mind control, but she knocked some sense into him. She owed him one for not killing her before. Clint/Natasha (rosaxx50)
5. He died for her, but she was less than appreciative of the gesture. Next time they met, he couldn't decide whether to kiss her or kill her, so he gave both a shot. Damon/Katherine (pocochina)
6. They bicker like an old married couple more than anything, but one has tortured the other a couple times - a skill he learned, of course, from the one he was torturing. Angel/Spike (ever_neutral)
7. They're both nearly impossible to kill, but that doesn't stop them from trying. He's better at it than she is, because she loves him too much. She was devastated when she thought he'd died, while he just takes her for granted. Klaus/Rebekah (goldenusagi)
8. He tried to kill her that one time, and she's been pissed ever since. Fortunately, she's figured out a way to kill him over and over, and it never gets old. Bonnie/Damon (rosaxx50)
9. One keeps claiming to want the other dead, but gave up his best chance to kill him in order to save someone else. Convenient how there's always a reason to keep him alive... Klaus/Stefan (ever_neutral)
10. They may think they want to kill each other, but really they love each other too much. They'll just lock each other in the basement until the urge passes. Stefan/Damon (pocochina)
11. They should want to kill each other more than they do, but the connection is too strong. No one else ~understands them. Occasionally, they do threaten to shoot each other whenever they think the other is lying. Which they almost always are. Carrie/Brody (ever_neutral)
12. Violence turns her on, so they're definitely one of those "fighting as foreplay" couples. They don't need to try to kill each other, though, because there are plenty of other people out there more than willing to do it for them. So many people to shoot, so little time...
13. Most of their attempts to kill each other are when they're not themselves, so it's all very awkward once they're back to normal, especially the one time he succeeded (don't worry, it didn't stick). But they both agree to euthanize the other in dire circumstances, which I guess is kind of romantic? John/Aeryn (rosaxx50)
14. Their very relationship is deadly to her, and it kept them apart for a while after he almost killed her, but they've figured out a way to make it work.

16. They didn't want to kill each other, but it was kill or be killed. She wasn't sure she could trust him until she realized that he loved her and wanted her to survive. Which made it all the more tragic when he tried to strangle her later on (but, to be fair, he'd just been tortured quite a bit). Katniss/Peeta (pocochina)
17. She killed his wife. That's not the kind of thing he can forgive. There's a lot of attempting killing on both sides, but ultimately he gets his revenge.
18. Their relationship was more about torture than killing (though she does like killing, too!), which probably made him wish she were dead, but he didn't act on it. Faith/Wesley (rosaxx50)
19. He believed she deserved to die, and he was all set to do it, but then he fell in love with her. Turns out he should've trusted his instincts: she wouldn't try to kill him, but everyone else is fair game. Dexter/Hannah (ever_neutral)
20. She only tried to kill him because she'd had her memory wiped and had forgotten their relationship. It made her believe that he was the enemy, but she eventually discovered that was a lie.
