* Why Brody needs to die. Much as I'd hate to lose Damian Lewis from Homeland, this post does make some valid points.

* I kind of wish I lived in this imagined alternate universe where the model for the best TV dramas is "the rise and deconstruction of female fantasies in the way that shows like Breaking Bad or Mad Men paint glorious specters of masculine badassery [...] and then reveal the rot in them." Date: Dec. 1st, 2012 07:24 pm (UTC)My thing is: Has NBC learned nothing from Katherine McPhee and Smash?? There is more to starring in a musical than being able to carry a tune. Carrie Underwood is not a theater actress. She's not an actress at all, really. So if you're casting the lead role in one of the most popular musicals of all time, is she really the best choice?
It's especially bizarre when you consider that NBC has multiple actual Broadway stars at their disposal, working on their TV shows.
