Snagged from maharet83: Pick one or more of my icons, and I will tell you three things I love about whoever or whatever is represented in them, or the icon itself. If you like, I'll do the same for you, although that's not required.
Coach and Mrs. Coach! One of the few functional ships I actually like, lol. I adore their relationship and the way it's portrayed, how they have their problems and conflicts but it's never about their marriage being ~at risk, it's just these are the ups and downs of a partnership. That sort of thing is so rare in TV drama. Also, on the artsy side, I love the negative space, contrasted with the burst of color from the blue uniform.
Again, love the colors, plus the Dan/Casey friendship is my absolute favorite thing about Sports Night. I'm also big on icons with a purpose, lol, so this is a good "hard at work" or "writerly things" icon. (Contrasted with this, lol, which is my "hardly working" icon:
This is so quintessential Claire. Oh, the ennui, lol! Claire's melancholy efforts to understand herself and low tolerance for bullshit are what I identify with the most. It's also a great crop and I love the light.
For you:
(Unrelated: OMG OREGON TRAIL ICON. So totally stalking that icon maker.)
That's my "oh? do tell" icon. Peggy just exudes inquisitiveness with the head tilt, the smile, the chin propped on her hand. She also looks so innocent (I think it's from the pilot?), which is not how I usually think of Peggy - she turns jaded pretty quickly. Also, it's just a really pretty icon. /shallow
I love ALL of coloneljack's West Wing icons, basically. I have a zillion of them. I am (as anyone who has seen my icons can tell) a huge quote-y person, so icons of TWW quotes have major appeal and CJ being snarky/flirty with the press corps is a win.
I've decided that Push is quite possibly my favorite movie ever to icon, because it is just SO GORGEOUS. Like, you do not even have to do anything to most of the caps, because the colors and compositions are just incredible all on their own. Anyway, when I made this one, I was loving how Dakota Fanning has this lovely porcelain doll look to her. Which, as a reflection of her character, seemed ironic, because she's got the whole wise-beyond-her-years thing going, and she's far tougher than a normal kid her age and if you compared her to a doll she'd probably kick you in the groin - but also kind of appropriate because, at the same time, she is rather fragile, even if she tries to hide it.
