next_to_normal...eventually. It's just kinda fun, in that watching-a-car-crash-in-slow-motion kind of way.
* Dan Rather gives The Newsroom his stamp of approval for its newsroom authenticity. Which is... nice, I guess? I mean, I don't think that was ever really in doubt. With the glaring exception of Studio 60, Sorkin generally has a handle on the workplaces featured in his workplace shows, albeit a more idealized version of the real thing. I dunno, maybe Rather felt someone should say something positive about the show, lol. (He does not, as it happens, give us his opinion on the treatment of female characters, the sanctimonious tone, the ludicrous caricatures meant to represent the right wing, or the smug jerk of a main character.)
* The New Yorker, on the other hand, feels no such need to be kind. I think the highlight is when the review compares Will McAvoy (the main character in The Newsroom) to Smash's Karen Cartwright. I think that says it all.
* As a palate-cleanser, an interview with Nick Offerman, aka Ron effing Swanson of Parks and Recreation.
* Catching Fire casting news: Mia Wasikowska is out, but Jena Malone is now being considered. I've decided I want Kat Graham. It will not happen.
* Also, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was apparently offered Plutarch Heavensbee.
