Slow day on LJ today. What's up with that? Unfortunately, not as slow as I'd like it in work, as I've had two different, but equally annoying people call me no less than six times today.

Anyway, questiony meme under the cut from ellan_vannin.

What do you usually have for breakfast?
During the week, a breakfast bar that I can throw in my purse and eat at my desk. I'm one of those "get up as late as humanly possible and still make it to work on time" people, so portable breakfast is key. On the weekends, I usually do cereal or waffles. It's funny, because I LOVE breakfast food - eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, the works. I just can't be arsed to actually make it for myself. I am so totally marrying the first man who will cook me breakfast.

Favorite item of clothing?
My grey zip-up hoodie sweatshirt. I actually love it so much, I'm on my third, having worn holes in the first two. I'd have just kept wearing the first one anyway, but my mother told me I looked like a homeless person and insisted I throw it out and buy a new one.

Favorite CD of the moment?
The Dr. Horrible soundtrack, which technically isn't a CD, because it hasn't been released yet, but some enterprising soul made mp3s from the video. (I promise to buy the actual soundtrack when it comes out.) But I rarely listen to whole CDs, thanks to the magic of iTunes, so I couldn't think of anything else.

What kind of car do you drive?
A 1999 Chevy Malibu. It was mother's, until she completely totaled it, had it fixed, and then gave it to me, so she could get a new one. It was actually pretty hilarious - both my parents wanted new cars, so they had this little competition, trying to get me to take theirs so that they could get the next new one. I think it says a lot that I picked the one with the salvage title over my dad's midlife crisis-mobile. (When my dad asks when he gets a new car, my mother reminds him that he was allowed to pick out the car of his dreams, and now he's stuck with it. FOREVER.)

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
My standard answer to this is usually London (sidebar: my mother called me yesterday to tell me about this movie called "The Bank Job," about this bank robbery (duh) at a bank on Baker St, and I was all OMG that's across the street from where I lived!), but in the interest of variety, I'll pick someplace I've never been before and go with Italy.

Favorite quote?
Oh, man, can I just say anything Jed Bartlet's ever said? I was rewatching season 1 of The West Wing this weekend, and you know, I am a political junkie and this is my crack. Okay, narrowing it down: "With the clothes on their backs they came through a storm, and those that didn't die want a better life. And they want it here. Talk about impressive. My point is this: Break's over."

Also, this: "You know, I was watching a television program before with a sort of a roving moderator who spoke to a seated panel of young women who were having some sort of problem with their boyfriends, apparently because the boyfriends had all slept with the girlfriends' mothers. Then they brought the boyfriends out, and they all fought, right there on television. Tell me - these people don't vote, do they?"

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A Broadway star. Or a marine biologist, except I was afraid of fish, so I wanted a job where I could just play with dolphins all day.

Well, I'm still afraid of fish.

What's wrong with spring?

Diamonds or pearls? 
Diamonds. But I mean, if someone were to give me pearls, I certainly wouldn't turn them down. I just really like shiny things.

Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate. Unless it's ice cream, in which case, vanilla. Because yes, I am the only person in the world who doesn't like chocolate ice cream.

Disney or Warner Bros?
I was always a Disney girl as a kid, plus Pixar's pretty awesome.

What is under your bed?
Those big plastic under-the-bed boxes full of clothes I never wear. Also, occasionally, my cat.

What do you do most often when you're bored?
I have to go with ellan_vannin on this one: Post memes, obviously.

And my second fave item of clothing is my Dillon Beach hoodie. It's shapeless and faded from all the washings but I would save it from a burning building, I swear to god.

Yes, fish fear. My parents totally mock me because I'll get in the water with a 500 lb. dolphin, but I won't go snorkeling because I'm afraid of the little fishes. But they're creepy! No one gets me.

My daughter is afraid of fish, too. Strange fear and it makes us all laugh. And is great ammo for her three brothers.

I have this thing where chocolate ice cream doesn't taste like chocolate to me, so I reject it in favor of vanilla with chocolate syrup. :)

LOL - let's see, things we have in common that we didn't know...love breakfast food, rarely make it (I have cereal with fruit every morning,though. A power bar just isn't going to do it for me.) I'm not a fan of chocolate ice cream (although I do like it in most of its other forms) I only pick stuff from iTunes and my list on the computer- haven't listened to a whole CD in a long time. Um, I think that's about it. I have more stuff under my bed - some of it the same as yours. :)

I can't say I share the fish fear because I love sharks and dive with them as often as I can, but I'm terrified of octopus (octopi? not sure on the plural here...) I was attacked by one the night I did my first night dive... I've also never done a night dive since.

And I love breakfast foods too but never make them for myself. Every morning my hubby is home I make him bacon and eggs though, but don't put in the effort for myself... It's a bit odd, I know.

Eeee! I think an octopus would scare the crap out of me. I'm not a fan of sting rays, either, even though everyone says they'll just leave you alone. I think I'm better off just staying in the shallow water, lol.

OMG I love The West Wing (and I have a crush on Josh, and it won't go away). My hubby watched all 7 seasons in July, I caught most of it in between doing other things (he never waited for me, the jerk). I cried when Josh gets shot.

I get you on the fish thing, they're creepy when they come around your legs and I'll shut up now, promise!

Oh and the chocolate thing? My sister doesn't like chocolate. At all. But she'll eat a whole pot of nutella if she can and she drinks hot chocolate. Go figure.

Oh, I have such a crush on Josh! I'll be honest, though, I pretty much love all of them. It's also helpful in explaining to my parents what I do. :)

I work in government. :) Back when I was an intern in the Governor's press office, I'd tell my parents stories from the office, and I'd explain how this person equaled Toby and that person equaled C.J., etc. It helped them to understand the people's job descriptions.

Also, when I grow up, I want to be Leo (er, before the running for VP and dying, of course. Just Chief of Staff would be fine).

I think I used to eat chocolate ice cream as a kid, then at some point I stopped. It made ice cream buying incredibly complicated... I wouldn't eat anything chocolate-based, my dad won't eat anything fruit flavored or with fruit in it, and my mom won't eat anything with nuts or hard chunks in it. So there was a lot of vanilla in our house, lol.
