I admit, I am watching the chaos over at LJ with detached amusement (and thanking my lucky stars I only ever use it for commenting and only have 15 icons to deal with).

However, in the interest of being helpful during this trying time, I wanted to remind everyone that, for the rest of the year, you can get a DW account without an account code. Just sign up! Plus, if you get a paid account, you'll get an additional 10% for your money. If you've been on the fence about DW, now's the time to create an account, even if it's just a back-up.

Yeah, now might be a good time to start cross-posting... I don't want to move to DW! I mean, I have nothing against DW itself, but the process of moving is NOT something I'm looking forward to :(.

You know, I hear a lot of people say that, but it's really a cinch. You can import all your old entries into DW in one fell swoop, and if you're set to automatically crosspost, it wouldn't be any more work than just posting to LJ.

I know, I already have, like, 3/4 of my lj imported, and I'm importing the rest as we're speaking, just in case. But importing communities is not that easy (and I have over 50 fics that are on an lj community, so I'd have to post them here manually).

Of course everything is doable, but it's a nuisance I'd rather avoid if I could. So right now I'm ranting and importing simultanously ;).

Ah, I see. Well, they are apparently working on the community import as we type, so there's that!

Do you not repost your fic to your own LJ? That's what I always did, just to have it all in one place, since you never know when a comm will close or get deleted or whatever.

It never occured me to repost the stories, because almost all of my Polish friends are members of this community, and it's like a center of our LJ life. I even have my masterlist posted there. I don't know, if I decide to move for good, it might be a good idea to just have a separate account for a fic archive. But then again - PAIN IN THE ASS, because I write a lot. I need to think.

I have a feeling that if they really make it possible to move communities, half of my flist will be here within the first 48 hours...
