Gakked this from [personal profile] dreamsofspike... I'm actually really curious about the answers to these questions. As I mentioned a while ago, I was going through the list of people who've friended me to see if there was anyone interesting I'd been overlooking, and I noticed there are a whole bunch who never comment, some of whom have empty journals, and others who didn't even seem to have any common interests with me, which makes me wonder why you friended me.

So, I am calling you out, friends! Please take a minute to satisfy my curiosity by answering the following questions in the comments:

1) Do you remember how you first found me?
2) Why did you friend me?
3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile?
4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that?

DoS pointed out a potential flaw in the plan, in that most people who never comment probably aren't likely to comment on this, either, but I figured it's worth a shot.

okay, i can't remember which of us friended who first, but i've always loved your fics from the first time I read them on BSV, and that was the main reason I wanted you on my flist :P hehe

I won't be defriending you, love, never :P hehe

And I comment on anything I read, so that one doesn't count :P hehe

yeah, that's definitely the case right now :P *sigh* i haven't been reading as much buffy fic lately as i used to, though i still read some... i'll get back into it after a while, but for now i'm all about the new fandom :P hehehe

1. Found you at BSV and admired your talent.
2. Sought you out here to get to know YOU better.
3. Oh yes, I rarely defriend and have no reason to want to where you are concerned.
4. Me not comment? LOL I take up far too much space in many an LJ other than mine. I write as much as I talk in RL! I need a cork or in the case of the net, mittens!

1) Do you remember how you first found me?

On BSV, reading something I liked a lot, and then you went and got a LJ account and I had to friend :)

2) Why did you friend me?

So I could read awesome fics without having to update BSV 20 times a minute...

3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile?

If you want me :)

4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that?

As I said to DoS, I've found a new fandom and I'm practically swimming in it, but I try to read everything my fav. authors write :) I might not comment as much, but I'll try

And the worst is, that of all three pages I had, ut was the one I preferred and the one that was always the last in updates :P

I am currently addicted to Final Fantasy VII, all those pretty boys... *drooooooolz*

1) Do you remember how you first found me?
Saw you on the Bloodshedverse.

2) Why did you friend me?
I enjoy your writing and your thoughts about writing.

3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile?
Of course. If you'll have me?

4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that?
I comment. Often. So I shouldn't even be answering this question, should I. Pretend you didn't read my answer to this and that you saw N/A instead.

1) Do you remember how you first found me? I think I had just joined LJ and was reading one of your stories.

2) Why did you friend me?
I wanted to make sure I didn't miss an update because I enjoy your stories.

3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile? If you will have me.

4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that? Well, I do comment. We don't always agree on points, but I still enjoy your work. I usually comment on all chapters unless the story has been posted for a long time. Then I am playing catch up and am not sure the author wants a bucket load of comments from one story showing up all at once. I will usually wait till the end of the story then to make a comment. Leaving a compliment is a way of showing an author you enjoy their work.

1) I think I read "Being Somebody Else" on BSV, but it took me awhile to get an LJ account together, and there you were with more Spike fic. Hooray!
2) 'Cos Spike fic. Duh.
3) Are you planning planning to defect to some other fandom?
4) I comment here and on BSV. SpuffyRealm always seems to lose my comments. I'm waiting to read "Closure" until it's done. Not sure why, but I've been hurt before . . .

1) Do you remember how you first found me?
BSV's Tag, I'm sure.

2) Why did you friend me?
It's typically what friends do :P You started out as one of my Tag Hags, and it progressed from there. Kick ass.

3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile?
Duh.

4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that?
Well, you know I'm around, so this totally doesn't apply.

1) Do you remember how you first found me?
I read your stories on the BSV, but specifically, I found your LJ through Slaymesoftly's LJ.

2) Why did you friend me?
Because I liked your stories, and it looked like you had other interesting things to say.

3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile?
Yes!

4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that?
Well, I am still sort of a LJ newbie, so at first I wasn't sure about netiquette and all that. I was just sort of watching LJ, and not doing much with it. Occasionally I'd comment, but I didn't want to just jump in and respond to every little thing someone said, or they'd be going, "Who is this person?" LOL. I like to leave comments here and there at first. I'm more likely to comment on fic posts or fandom posts than personal posts, and I'm more likely to comment if the person has friended me back, since I figure they want to know what I have to say. [And that was longer than I thought, and is not about you specifically, just sort of my commenting habits in general.]

1) Do you remember how you first found me? I think it was on Seasonal Spuffy, is it possible?...long before joining LJ, and I may have left one or two comments back then. 2) Why did you friend me? Really liked your style and your attitude about the fandom, it was like making a statement. 3) Are you planning on keeping me on awhile? Keeper. 4) if you're on of those that read me but never comment...why is that? Now I think it's polite to comment, even if I'm not always up to my own standards. When I hadn't started commenting, the main reason was the feeling of being an intruder in a restricted group that would resent me for being inappropriate or plain nosey; I felt compelled to comment by writers declarations of being addicted to feedback and such like things. I'll never post a negative comment, so that's another big reason for lack of feedback.

I'm back after having had the computer out of order for several days, so I'm seeing this today. I agree that the blackmail style request for feedback is irritating, but a plain old needy appeal sometimes will move hard hearted readers, and another thing that moves me to comment is when the author puts some notes at the top of the page: could be something personal like "I wrote this while suffering terrible toothache" to the hilarious Mr.Monkeybottoms disclaimers. Meaning, if they treat you like you're a person, there's a chance that they're real persons too, what a surprise. And if it wasn't the Seasonal S. it must have been the Spike Fics...wherever that was, lucky me! Now I'll go back to check the friend's pages that I haven't seen in DAYS. Who knows, there could even be another Closure chapter...
