YOU GUYS! I made an apple pie! With apples I picked myself! And it is delicious!
Saturday was a trip to the farm for apple and pumpkin picking and a hayride. I came home with a dozen hand-picked apples, five potatoes (two of which have already become baked potatoes), an onion, two pumpkins (for decorative purposes, although I am totally craving pumpkin pie...), and half a gallon of apple cider. Mmmmmmm.
Now I have 8 apples left! What should I do with them?

OH! And any quick bread recipe can be improved by adding chopped apple bits and cinnamon!

Date: Oct. 26th, 2011 03:56 am (UTC)I do have pork chops in the freezer, so that's an excellent possibility. And I have a cinnamon streusel quickbread planned that would probably go well with apple, but that might be too many baked goods at once, so I may wait until the pie is gone. :)

A. It has such a wonderful flavor that it literally gives people chills. Therefore people got in the habit of wearing coats when they eat it. Thus "coat cheese".
