next_to_normalAKA: the point at which I completely gave up on the meme and just started posting random awesomeness.
Speaking of which, I am pondering possibly doing a round-up of my favorite "We Love the Women Fandom Hates" posts from this week. I missed, like, 90% of the thing and didn't get a chance to participate myself, but lots of people have posted awesome things. (Shout-out toever_neutral for being the stanniest Elena stan there is!)
Day Twenty-Seven: A female character you have extensive personal canon for
Darla Appreciation Day!
It was impossible to put Darla into a category, because she is SO MANY THINGS. Human. Vampire. Whore. Mother. Victim. Rebel. HBIC. Evil. Go-- well, okay, slightly less evil. In all her incarnations, she is FABULOUS, no? Pretty crappy ending she gets (you're not a person, all that matters is your WOOOOOOMB) but this is AtS, where all women are merely vessels and must give their lives for their spawn. I... oh man, now I wish we'd had a Darla spin-off, because her story - when it's hers and not Angel's - is tragic and beautiful. I would've loved to spend SO much more time with her than we got.
Also, Julie Benz is a goddess.
