As promised, the epic picspam of condo renovations. Unfortunately, I don't have the "before" pictures, since they're on my parents' camera, so these start out partway through our work.

Here's a picture of my bedroom (aka my dad's work space) with the stack of boxes containing the new floor. That old, dark parquet floor was also in every room except the kitchen and bathroom. Here's what the living room looks like with the new floor. SO MUCH BRIGHTER:

You can also see the crown molding my dad put in around the ceiling.

The living room from the opposite direction - you can see my balcony and the pretty view. (That beige, sorta-high rise building smack in the middle there is actually my current apartment building, which cracks me up. I am moving literally two minutes away, yet I am changing counties.) This was actually taken before I had any lights, which is why it's so dark, lol.

My new TV stand/DVD cabinet. Previously located in my parents' dining room, lol.

More pretty crown molding in the dining room. Also my new red chairs for the balcony, greatly welcomed since it's the only furniture I have in there. Prior to that, we took turns sitting on a step-stool and a bucket.

Dining room light. A hand-me-down from my parents' kitchen.

The bathroom, after being painted. The walls were white before, and I wanted more contrast with the white tile. I have one of those divided bathrooms, with the toilet and bathtub in one room and the sink and dressing area sort of in a separate room.

My new bathroom light above the medicine cabinet in the sink room. Note the awesome hole in the wall and exposed wires, which my dad assures me will be fixed before I move in, lol.

Bathroom cabinet. I put that sucker together! Mostly by myself, too, which made me feel pretty darn accomplished. My dad is kind of a perfectionist and wouldn't let us do anything except clean up his mess, so I was all, "I can build things, too, you know!" My mother tried to "help," but she was intimidated by all the different screws and was like, "This looks complicated, maybe we should wait for Dad?" To which I replied, "Jeez, you act like you've never built your own furniture before!" :) About halfway through, when she accidentally stuck one of the wooden dowels in the wrong size hole and it got stuck, then she flung it across the room trying to yank it back out, I muttered, "Now I know how Dad feels..."

New kitchen appliances! The cabinets and countertop were already there, but as you can see, the opposite wall of the kitchen was rather neglected:

So we bought more cabinets and we're planning to get another countertop for the other side. That black thing in the lower right-hand corner is my microwave, lol. My dad still needs to install the cabinet that goes above the stove so he can attach the microwave to it. Here's the new pantry cabinet:

Aaaaaand here is me in the box the pantry cabinet came in, lol.

Tile backsplash option #478.

My mom in my walk-in closet in the bedroom.

The on-going disaster area that is my bedroom, post-floor installation. (That's my dad in the background measuring the wall. I think he was installing the baseboards.)

The contractor at work. No one else was allowed to touch the saw. Probably for the best, since all thirty fingers are still accounted for.

Back at the apartment, I've already started packing. And so has Chelsea:

It's such a short distance but you still have to pack, move and unpack!

That's an amazing amount of work!! Your home looks terrific. Thanks for the pictures.

Ooooh. I will have to visit when you're all moved in. I also like that tile back splash. Yay for putting together your bathroom cabinet! I like putting those sort of things together. Though I was wary with this bookcase I bought from a discount store, I was afraid I wouldn't have all the pieces. But it's all together and working. Your dad looks like a pro with those power tools.
I like the view from the balcony too. Hopefully you'll use it more than at this one apartment where we had a balcony but never really used it. We didn't have a nice view though. Mostly of yelling/smoking neighbors, the parking lot, and some trees.
