In which I lament the fact that NPH is gay...

...because it means that I can't marry him. :(

So, y'all remember a while back, I mentioned that this was happening? Neil Patrick Harris, Patti LuPone, Stephen Colbert, Christina Hendricks, and Stephen Sondheim's Company? Well, for four days only, it's playing in select theaters - if you still want to see it, Tuesday is your last chance! My parents were here (again), so I dragged my mother along, since my dad refuses to let us do anything in the condo. (I took pictures, btw, so I'll do a "work in progress" post soon!)



Neil Patrick Harris is fabulous and perfect, as always. I kind of look at him and go, "How do you even EXIST?" I want him to be in everything ever. If you don't know the show, Neil plays Bobby, the lone single guy among his many married friends, and most of the show is about his friends encouraging him to get married, while he looks at their relationships and wonders why he would ever want to do that. So of course, the whole time, I'm thinking, "I'll marry you, Neil! I'll marry you!" :) Here's the cast performing at the Tony Awards:

That was just what I needed on a summer morning. I always play the "when I grow up and am rich" game ("when I grow up and am rich, I'll buy myself Fiji water, because I'll be good enough for designer water!), and I always do the "when I grow up and am rich I'll go to the theater regularly so I can actually know what's up with the Tony's" version. So when I am grown up and rich, I'll be a regular theater-goer, so I can be excited about this kind of stuff.

Hee! I am pretty fortunate that I've lived close enough to a couple major cities (including New York), so I got to see plenty of theater. And often at discounted prices through school trips or TKTS or whatever. :)

I haven't kept up with what's on Broadway since I moved away, though. I have a friend who has an XM subscription and gets the Broadway station, and she tells me what the new musicals are and which ones I should like. :)
