Heh, I may just do a post on the class, if I ever have free time. We had a discussion last night about conservative feminism and whether it is a real thing or an oxymoron. :) Our first paper was to write an autobiography, which I may share as well (under extreme f-lock) since I really had fun doing it.

The book is great, but it kinda made me angry all over again. :-P I was so personally invested in Hillary and the way she was treated was just horrible and it's like reliving all the gross misogyny all over again. The author does make a good point that it raised awareness - so many people thought we were "post-feminist" and so it was eye-opening to see such blatant sexism in action. But.... it's still also really, really depressing, you know?

Oooh, Red Dwarf, let's see.

* favorite male character: Hmmm, Lister. It's a tough call between Lister and Rimmer, though. I kind of adore both of them for being their obnoxious and unlovable selves.
* favorite female character: Er, well, the only one was Kochanski. Unless you count girl!Holly...
* prettiest character: the Cat, of course!
* funniest character: Rimmer
* favorite season: Five. It has "Quarantine" and "Back to Reality."
* favorite episode: See above.
* favorite romantic ship: Again, not many to choose from, and I'm not much of a slasher. Lister/Kochanski had its moments, but I was never particularly invested.
* favorite family ship: Lister/himself. I never quite understood how that worked, lol...
* favorite friend ship: Lister/Rimmer. I adore how friendly they are in S6. It makes me so sad that Rimmer goes off to be Ace.

* favorite season: Hmmmm, probably the first one, since I watched it on Netflix and then immediately bought the DVD, but I haven't felt terribly motivated to rewatch the later seasons.
* favorite episode: TOUGH. Probably either "9 Lives" (omg I love the little boycat) or "From the Earth to the Starbucks" because Shawn's planetarium show is HILARIOUS and drunk!Lassie is never not funny.
* favorite romantic ship: You know, I kind of hated the idea of Shawn/Juliet at first, but it's kind of growing on me?
* favorite family ship: the Spencers - I have particularly enjoyed the return of Shawn's mom. It throws a fun wrench the whole father/son thing.
* favorite friend ship: Shawn/Gus, obvs
