Two observations, a question, and a linkspam

1. My cat has a habit of leaving cat toys in my shoes. These often tend to be little pom poms that can get stuck in the toe and so I don't notice them until I am already at work. I choose to think of it as a sign of affection, like when you were a kid and your mom used to pack your lunch and sometimes she'd leave a little note in there so you wouldn't see it until lunchtime? It's like that. Except fuzzier.

2. When my cat is high on catnip, she gets this wide-eyed manic look, which kind of reminds me of Damon's crazy eyes? I don't know what to make of that.

3. Question: For quite a while, actually, my iTunes has been doing this thing where it cuts off a song before the end. Sometimes it's a few minutes in, other times it's just a few seconds. The display still shows the full time length for the track, but partway through it just skips to the next song. At first I tried replacing each song, thinking maybe the file was corrupted, but that is getting both annoying and expensive since I have to keep buying songs I already bought from iTunes. Plus, it keeps happening to new songs. The same thing happens on my iPod. There seems to be no pattern to which songs it happens to, either, just totally random. Has anyone had this happen to them, and do you have any idea how to fix it?

* No full season of Doctor Who next year. :( Apparently they are saving it for 2013, which is the 50th anniversary year?

* Trailers for Damages season 4. I... actually forgot this show hadn't been canceled.

* Leslie Knope is writing a book.

* I always knew that SPF 90 sunscreen was a scam!

My Cat Has Crazy Damon Eyes is now on my list of things that literally made me LOL at work. And sad day about Doctor Who :( It makes me fear even more for Amy and Rory, but they'd better damn well walk off that TARDIS happy and in love and ready for a regular life together!

Yeah, I kind of realize that Karen Gillan and Arthur Darville might eventually want to move on with their lives, but I was hoping Amy and Rory would be around for, like, DECADES before that happened... :(

The kitty gifts in your shoes made me laugh out loud. When my cat was a kitten, she used to bring toys into my bed while I was sleeping. Since she often liked to dunk said toys into her water bowl for some reason, sometimes I would be woken up by rolling onto a soaking wet stuffed bunny. Luckily, she rarely does that nowadays. :D

Hee! Chelsea leaves toys in my bed sometimes, too. And then she pounces on me to get them back. :-P

What is with cats' obsession with dunking things in their water bowls?? If I had a nickel for every sopping wet toy I have fished out of Chelsea's bowl... man.

I Tunes has had some pretty major updates lately. Don't know if that's something just for Mac users, or it it applies to everyone who buys from them? But if everyone is supposed to get the upgrades and you haven't....???

Hmm, I don't see how that could be it. It's been happening for probably close to a year, and I know I've updated iTunes more than once since then.

3. Er, because otherwise it's stealing? And I work for an organization that represents musicians and it would be absurdly hypocritical of me to lobby for stronger copyright protection and then go home and illegally download stuff.

3. Riiiiiight. I see your dilemma. What about just getting hard copies of albums? (lol, idk, I never download single songs.)

Heh, I almost ALWAYS download single songs, unless I really love the band. I'd been complaining for years about buying whole CDs just for one or two songs, so iTunes was the single best thing that could have happened, lol.

Besides, even songs where I already owned the CD and then copied it to my iTunes have been affected. So it wouldn't actually save me any time or frustration because I'd still be re-adding the songs over and over. And it might not even be cheaper if I have to buy whole CDs for one song.

I'd much rather figure out what's causing the problem. :(

You should use this website- guvera.com
It's legally downloading music because advertisers pay for it. You can only get about 6 songs a month or so, and not everything is there, but you can still get awesome songs like ones from the Willy Wonka movie, and the musical episode of scrubs.
Also amazon sometimes has free songs, but not always great ones.
But I do actually pay for music sometimes!

Haha, I don't actually mind paying for music - I'm happy to support the business model if it encourages record companies to adapt to the new technology.

I just would prefer to only pay for each song once...

(Although iTunes often has free songs, too, and I've actually liked quite a few of them.)
