haha, I only recognize six of these so my patterns are basically THEIR NAMES HAVE VOWELS, BOW BEFORE MY INSIGHT, though the consistent pattern with those six is they do a lot of quickly rising to pretty intense occasions. also that I love them. Chuck. Jed!

But yeah, choosing was hard. I would have a tough time with my top fifteen Buffyverse characters, I think.

Haha, I am curious which six you recognize? Buffy and Spike, obvs. Laura, Jed, Chuck, and...?

But yeah, I'd say that pattern fits quite a few others - definitely Amy, Caroline, and Katniss. I also think I tend to like characters who are underestimated, and then end up kicking serious ass (mentally or physically), which dovetails with rising to the occasion.

Veronica Mars! I don't ever have a whole lot to say about it but it's definitely my favorite mystery show.

You've got the Awesome Ladies down pat . . . and a Presidential thing with Bartlett and Roslin, though I'd also categorize them with Tami Taylor as a parental thing as well, because he's such a daddy president and she's such a mommy president. There's a connection between Erica and Annie Edison as well, in their academic pursuits.

Haha, I think I just have a general politics thing, because The West Wing is basically, like, throw a stone and hit a favorite character.

Oh, and I am definitely a fan of the overachiever who ends up failing at life, which is Erica and Annie, but also Chuck and Veronica and kind of Buffy if you squint. But I think that's more because I like to see characters pick themselves up after a fall and become better people for it. I mean, Erica, Annie, Chuck, and Veronica all start their respective shows at rock bottom and over time go through the process of making changes in their lives for the better. Buffy, on the other hand, exemplifies what's disappointing about Joss' storytelling - every time she tries to get up, he kicks her right back down. (But I love her anyway because she keeps trying!)

I am not sure exactly why, but every time someone does this meme, I am always struck by how identical our tastes in characters are. And yours is no exception, heh.

I'd say all the females have quite a lot of emotional damage, but are spitfires and keep fighting anyway.

The guys that I recognise are optimists. They might have their issues, but they are life-livers.
