next_to_normal: Tony and Steve facing off (Tony/Steve)
While I am here, happy happy birthday to [personal profile] mcmegan, because I will probably be overwhelmed with work the next few days and won't have a chance to say it later.

And now, linkspam:

* Game of Thrones' story editor on adapting the books for the TV series.

* Interesting poster for Dexter's final season.

* Whoa, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm in a Fantastic Four reboot? I might actually be interested in this now. (Then again, it couldn't possibly be worse than the previous iteration. God knows I love Chris Evans, but he was the only good thing about those movies.)

* Speaking of Chris Evans, Captain America is filming in DC this weekend and again later in May. I have some stalking to do!

* Another read-it-after-you've-seen-it Iron Man 3 review. Same with this analysis of the Mandarin.

* James Corden strikes me as MUCH better casting for the Baker in Into the Woods than that awful Johnny Depp rumor. Let's hope this one's the accurate one.

* Andy Mientus talks about tonight's episode and Jonathan Larson parallels on Smash. I have to say, although Smash has had its ups and downs with this arc, I really like how everything turned out with Jimmy and Kyle? I spent most of the season being annoyed that YET AGAIN we were being presented with this loathsome character that we were nevertheless supposed to find likable, because he's Karen's love interest and we all know how much this show (inexplicably) adores Karen. Casting Jeremy Jordan as Jimmy was a huge mislead, because he's such a leading man type and "lovable rogue" is so his wheelhouse that I wasn't expecting the show to actually legit make him the bad guy. But they went there and it turns out Kyle - the trusty sidekick, the one no one was paying attention to - was actually the good guy all along, and Kyle's the one who suffers and it's all Jimmy's fault. And I'm sure this will lead to Jimmy's ~redemption or whatever, but for once: well played, Smash.

And I cannot believe I am on the verge of writing full-on Smash meta. Send help.
