Ways that CVS is stupid
Jul. 30th, 2010 01:43 pm1. I wanted to buy new headphones. Nothing fancy, just those cheap little earbuds. Between the cat using them as a chew toy and me accidentally stepping on them, I go through headphones like most people go through underwear, so there's really no point in getting expensive stuff.
In CVS (actually, I think it's most places, Rite Aid does it, too), for some reason, the headphones are kept in a locked display case, which requires the assistance of a customer service assistant to open. And not only that, but the CSA then escorted me to the pharmacy counter, because apparently I can't be trusted to walk there on my own and not to run off with the loot.
Seriously? I mean, I can understand locking up the electronics, but these are $10 headphones. I absolutely guarantee you there are more expensive things in the store that are NOT locked up. WTF? Are we discriminating against music lovers now?
2. I also picked up a prescription today, and when I got back to the office, I opened it up and realized they'd given me a different medicine than usual. So back I go to CVS, where they explain to me that it's a generic version of the one I usually get. Fine, but do you think it might've been helpful to tell me that before you gave it to me? This is my third refill on this prescription; there's absolutely no reason I'd be expecting them to switch medicines now.
Also, this pharmacy is notorious for not filling my orders properly. I have had orders not filled on time, or only received half the amount of pills I was supposed to get. So when I open the bag and see some random medicine I've never heard of, of course I'm going to come back and make sure it's not a(nother) screw-up. But apparently it would be too much effort to think ahead and tell me that so I don't have to make another trip back to the store.
*sigh* If it weren't the only pharmacy that's convenient, I'd totally stop going there.
