I noticed in reading over it that Riley's is definitely more plain-spoken, while Spike's is more poetic. Which makes sense, him being a poet and all, but it definitely makes it seem like more of a Significant Moment. (Of course, I'd also say people don't talk like Spike's speech in real life, but Riley's I could buy from a real person.)
And yeah, when Spike says he's seen the best and the worst of her, he really has. Riley's only scratching the surface of the low point she's at.
