wendelah1: (for the sake of argument)
From: [personal profile] wendelah1
I guess I don't think of it as cheating. I've adjusted my goals down once or twice. Last year I moved my goal from 50 books to 60, and ended up reading 62. This year, I'm already a book behind. Life happens.

But apparently I have an 800-page slog EVERY YEAR.

I hear you. I'm in the middle of the first of two 800-page slogs, both written in the nineteenth century, both set during the Civil War. I might not make it to the end of the first book, let alone the sequel. Last year, my 800-pagers were scifi so I whipped through them in a few days.

Then there was the year it took me six months to read The Brothers Karamazov.
