Nov. 8th, 2013 11:58 pm* Ahahaha, I'm a fan of The Sound of Music generally, but Linda Holmes makes some excellent (and hilarious) points. For example: "You would start by teaching untrained children to sing in unison. There's nothing wrong with unison. Having them sing in seven-part harmony is overly ambitious and likely to create stress."
* Mostly leaving this here until I get to see Thor: The Dark World, but if you're wondering about the post-credits sequence, here you go.
* ROTFLMFAO at this Chinese theater accidentally using a slashy fanmade poster instead of the official Thor poster. In other not-real promotional material, I give you the trailer for Thor Actually.
* Slumber party with Tom Hiddleston! I... can't even describe this. You just have to watch it. While we're on the subject, here is a collection of Tom being adorable.
* I have really enjoyed the unconventional director choices Marvel has made. I think it adds an interesting dimension to each film and keeps them from seeming bland and generically superhero-y.
* Marvel has spawned a whole new set of TV series, which will be streaming on Netflix. The guys at HitFix discuss further.
* The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special will be aired all around the world simultaneously.
* OMG Love Actually came out 10 years ago? That... makes me feel really old.
* Oooh, this is interesting: what Masters of Sex doesn't address about the real-life Virginia Johnson.
* A Hunger Games theme park? Really? "After the Hunger Games theme park, Lionsgate should consider a Hunger Games reality show, because that also sounds like a great idea that could in no way backfire." Also: Katniss/Gale clip from Catching Fire!
* This article doesn't really tell us anything new about the Saul spin-off, but I am including it because this deserves to be quoted: "For example, Breaking Bad itself was originally going to be the story of a high school chemistry teacher who lives a contented but vaguely unsatisfying life, with every episode was going to consist of Walter White staring off into the middle distance while he gives a lecture about hydrogen bonds.
“But what if he wore a hat?” mused Vince Gilligan, and a hit was born."

Date: Nov. 9th, 2013 09:46 pm (UTC)That being said, you wouldn't happen to have a link to the actual Who trailer, would you? I've tried looking for it myself since, but all I'm getting is "YouTube removed this video for copyright because we're crotchety like that" results (and it looks like other people's links are having the same issue). :-\

Date: Nov. 13th, 2013 07:41 am (UTC)That's classic. Also, I feel like Tom Hiddleston would approve.
Still not as good as the actual Korean promos for Hannibal, though. :)

It really is interesting how BB became like this perfect storm of continuity porn and fully fledged character stories, when there were so many other ways it could have gone, lol.
