lutamira: In an AU version of your life, what is your career/occupation?
Well, in an AU where I have more talent, I'd be a theater actress. :) It's basically my fantasy career - and of course, in this fantasy, I am paid well enough that I don't need a side job waiting tables or anything, lol. Y'all know about my passion for musical theater, and weirdly, despite being an introvert who hates being the center of attention, I actually enjoy performing? I dunno, it's a thing. I've been doing it in various ways since I was 4, so I've had plenty of time to deal with stage fright. And acting especially feels comfortable because I'm not me. I'm playing a role, which means I can be the center of attention but with some degree of anonymity. Primarily, though, I just love the feeling I get from being an audience member, and I cannot imagine how incredible it would be to know that you evoke that feeling in other people, to know that you are creating something beautiful and moving every day.
Unfortunately, in this universe, since my mother never let me take voice lessons, I've ended up advocating for artists and performers instead of being one. It kinda fits, though, since most of politics is just theater anyway. :)
I also sometimes wonder what my life would be like if I'd stayed a chemistry major in college. Not that I have any regrets (well, except a little bit when I get my piddly paycheck and think about how much money I'd be making in pharmaceuticals), but just thinking about the "what if", you know?
What's your AU career? (And remember to leave me your questions!)
