Still testing...
Sep. 11th, 2010 12:17 pmI just posted another access-only post (with actual content this time, so I'm not just spamming you with test posts, lol), so if you've got the tag tracking set up, you should have received notification and been able to view the entry. Let me know if anything's not working properly.
To keep this post from being utterly pointless, have some links I snagged from
cleolinda:
Martin Freeman to play Bilbo Baggins - This made me laugh hysterically, because when I watched The Office, I totally said, "Wow, that dude looks like a hobbit!" Can I call 'em or what? lol
Sexy Elmo Dress - Okay, skipping right past the oxymoron aspect of "sexy" and "Elmo" being in the same sentence, and going right to laughing hysterically because apparently Willow started a fashion trend. God help us.
Brighton Rock, the movie - This is probably not quite as funny to anyone but me, because I saw the musical version of Brighton Rock when it debuted in London. In fact, I wrote a whole paper tearing it to shreds for my theater class. (My love of musicals does have it limits.) The original Graham Greene novel is a dark, gritty mobster drama, and the chirpy, upbeat musical numbers seemed wildly out of place side by side with the themes of immorality and damnation. It'd be like taking The Sopranos and Bye Bye Birdie and smooshing them together into one production. SO BAD OMG. But I did think it would have worked brilliantly as a dark drama, if they'd just take out the musical numbers and make it a straight play. Which was why the movie version intrigued me, so I will keep my eye on this.
