next_to_normal: (Amanda Seyfried)
So, I'm still watching Huge, and Monday night's episode totally made me cry. I was already kind of upset that night, and then seeing how hurt Will was that Ian is not only oblivious to the fact that she likes him - because he doesn't even see her as a "real" girl - but is crushing on gorgeous, blonde Amber on top of it, man, it just killed me. All I needed was for Nikki Blonsky to bust out with "I'm Not That Girl." But the song she sang in the episode was pretty awesome, too.

ETA: I also thought it was really cool that we learned Poppy identifies as asexual. You NEVER see asexual characters portrayed on TV, unless they're pathological or something. This show is freakin' determined to defy expectations in every possible way, and I love how it attempts to normalize things we're not used to seeing on TV.

Then last night, I watched Dear John. Even though I swore I would never read a Nicholas Sparks novel, or watch a movie based on one, my love for Amanda Seyfried is STRONG. I was so not in the mood for a sappy love story, but I figured, hey, it's Nicholas Sparks, so somebody's probably gonna die, right? And my faith was rewarded! People dying all over the place! \o/ I was, of course, predisposed to cry my eyes out, even though it was INSANELY cliched, but Amanda Seyfried is adorable as usual.

And then this morning, when I came into work, I saw this headline in The Hill: Dems deny 'secret plan.' So, of course, my immediate response was, "...to fight inflation?" Which meant I had to watch this and this and giggle uncontrollably.
