I think the only fat character whose attitude towards their body I've supported 100% was Tracey Turnblad from Hairspray.

The Hurley thing was mostly an answer to critical internet fans who noticed Hurley was stuck on a deserted island and oddly not losing weight

Um, I wouldn't call that being critical so much as "completely oblivious to the way weight loss works." Jorge Garcia has lost a little weight since the pilot. No, he doesn't suddenly look like Jack or Sawyer, but a.) he's NEVER going to, even if he starves himself. Bodies just don't work like that, and b.) they've only been on the island two months! 1 pound = 3500 calories. Do you know how much you have to NOT eat to burn 3500 calories a day, to lose just one pound a day? Even if he were completely starving (which obviously isn't the case, since no one else has lost weight), he couldn't possibly have lost more than 50 lbs or so. And maybe if Kate lost 50 lbs, it'd be obvious (she'd disappear), but on a guy as big as Hurley? You're barely going to notice it. So shut the fuck up, internet fans.
