It's some brain hiccup that in the Whedonverse they have this thing about 'fate.' They like to intervene too much and put neon lights on top of it. Kyrumption was unnecessary and annoying. C/A didn't need that. It actually hindered them. What on earth is with Whedonverse preoccupation with mindless 'predestination'?
People should love each other because they learn to love who that person is good, bad, goofy, and snarky, not because somewhere out there someone somewhere made it predetermined 'destiny'. Honestly, the whole concept of 'predestined' is hooey and doesn't carry any weight with me.
Pulling a couple of lines from an old poem.
'And I'll look at you, and there you'll be And together we'll turn to look at the road we travelled to reach this. Old hopes. New laughter. And shared tears...'
That's when its love. Not when you first clap eyes on each other and are all about phermones and preconceptions. That's just infatuation.
Kyrumption? Bull.
Cordy and Angel as partners and friends and necessary ballast for one another? Lovely.
