Breaking Bad - Some of the best acting and pacing on tellyvision. Rome - It's still nowhere near perfect, but 1000x closer than that "Gladiator" crap.
Also (and maybe this is one I just couldn't guess you were already watching) :
Justified - A living testament to how a creator's direct involvement can really make the writing pop. Elmore Leonard on the small screen is still Elmore Leonard.
