Something next to normal, that's the thing I'd like to try

I've never read The Princess Diaries, just saw the movie. I thought the book sounded promising because of the title, too, but when I actually read it, I sort of got the impression that the message wasn't actually "size 12 isn't fat" but that "being fat makes you crazy."
