Bye bye bacteria

(Imagine me singing to the tune of "Bye Bye Birdie")

I went to the doctor again today, and I suppose it's another good news/bad news situation. The good news is that my test results came back, and the C. diff bacteria, my erstwhile companion, is finally out of my system. Which I had kind of guessed, since I did feel better once I'd finished round two of the antibiotics.

The bad news is that I feel better, and not cured. I still have some symptoms, which means there's something else lurking in my intestines. My test results also showed elevated C-reactive protein, so the doctor thinks it's an inflammation in my colon, and you know what that means... Colonoscopy! Think happy thoughts in my direction on Wednesday (actually, I'll probably need them Tuesday night, lol).

You have my complete and total sympathy.

What an optimist. That's the spirit!

I'm refraining from regaling you with horror stories about the prep again.

:( Colonoscopy. Not fun. Ask them to more or less knock you out. Much better.

I've had the test and the prep really is the worst part. All that flushing out your innards is a messy nuisance.

The prep for a colonoscopy is way more annoying than the procedure itself. For that all you do is lie there while they give you the good drugs. *g*
