Potential Spin-Off Poll

I've heard it said many times - both seriously and facetiously - that season seven was just one long audition for "the next Buffy." That they threw in all those Potentials hoping one of them would be popular enough to become the star of her own show. So... which one would you watch?[Poll #1392368]

This poll is biased, LOL. But if I must, then Vi. Mainly just because I like that moment when Buffy has them all out practicing with Spike and Spike catches Vi.

I didn't like them en masse, but as individual characters, I thought Vi, Rona, and Amanda had, well, potential. I'd have preferred if we spent more time with those few than all the faceless group stuff.

I selected Chao-Ahn just because the language barrier made her the least annoying! I thinks she and Andrew would be comedy gold.

I picked Chao-Ahn too, same reason - and also because there'd be a nice opportunity to develop a Slayer from another country in a less stererotyped, Kendra-esque way as the series went on.

Plus, I think Spike should've shown up as a guest start to deal with all the shivery subtext of another Chinese slayer.

Hee! I admit, I was tempted by the prospect of Chao-Ahn comedy.

I'm surprised by the number of people who picked Andrew! I agree he'd be good for the comedy, but it seemed so many people found him annoying, I wouldn't expect them to want to watch a show where he's a series regular.

While I like Kennedy, I have to admit that my real vote was for Willow as the star, with Kennedy as her partner/sidekick.

Although even better than that would have been the "Faith and Spike on a motorbike" show. AS long as Willow and Kennedy were in it too. :-)

I hated the intrusion of the Potentials storyline so much and the screen time they stole from the characters I wanted to see interacting with each other that I couldn't bring myself to vote. Individually, I liked Amanda, Vi and Molly (despite the accent that the British contingent on LJ roundly condemned as horrible (compared to Drusilla she sounded pretty good to my American ears). I'd kind of thought Vi was annoying during the run of the show, but since then I've grown to admire Felicia Day through her web-series The Guild and Dr Horrible, and I woudn't mind seeing more of her. But a Potential spin off? I resent them so much that I couldn't bear to watch.

I liked a few of them individually as well, and would have preferred to spend more time with those few than have dozens of nameless girls clogging up the works. So I wouldn't mind the chance for one of them to get some depth on her own show.

My post-series stuff tends to team up Faith and Vi, Rona and Xander, and Chao-Ahn and Robin Wood.

Yeah, I could see either Vi or Rona with Xander - or with each other, for that matter, since they seemed like a pretty good pair. I would've included Faith in the second question, but I ran out of spaces. :(

I vote Amanda. I know she's dead, but this is the buffy-verse. Since when has a little something like death made any difference? Amanda was my favorite potenial!

LOL, you know, I almost added a note about "ignore the fact that half these characters are dead" but I figured people would get it. After all, there is precedent for Joss to change plans to kill off a character when they're well-liked (Angel, Spike), so I'm sure he would've kept Amanda alive if it meant a spin-off. :)

Post-series I'd watch would be Faith/Wood who I find totally sexy as a couple.

Heh, I didn't include Faith since a.) she's not actually a potential, and b.) no one would've picked the potentials if they could pick Faith. :) She definitely works for the second one (as the partner/sidekick), but I didn't have enough spaces.
