But this one sounds really awesome. Fortunately, I don't have a single fic idea that I think has enough traction for a 30,000 word fic, so I won't be tempted to sign up, but it'd be cool to have someone illustrate a fic.

Oh, yeah, I have at least 20 fic ideas in my WIP folder... just haven't been able to get enough traction on any of them to get past the idea phase.

The nice thing about the ficathon is that you can use WIPs - so if you have something you're already working on, you could use that, as long as 15,000 of the words are new (i.e. never been posted before the ficathon).

I might pull that off. What kind of deadline was involved? (I looked but don't remember).

Final stories are due by May 24th. There are checkpoints along the way where you should have approximately so many words written, but that's the drop-dead deadline.
