It is, of course, made of Medium Density Fibreboard.

mmm I' going with wood though I really think it's a combination of wood and metal but I'm not sure now, and when I try to think about Dead Things to recall a texture I can't seem to get a clear picture of that door on my mind :(

I'm uselessly confused. Thank you.

I went to OMWF to see, and it looked like wood, but I'm sure it's stone at some moment :P

It's the sound of it--when it's banged upon, it sounds like metal. Stone wouldn't make that sound, and wood would be more of a bang, and not sound so...hollow.

Yeah, I thought about that (the sound effects and set design peeps) as soon as I posted that comment, lol. It doesn't look like metal (maybe wood?), but it sure sounds like it. Metal would make the most sense to be on an old crypt (I think), or stone over wood. Some of the other crypt doors looked metal, though (I'm thinking of a few shown in s4).

I voted for wood [for the look on the show], but any crypt I've seen had a metal door.

In Brooklyn, there are cemeteries everywhere! Many are [or were] quite beautiful and peaceful. In fact, quite like BTVS, there were angels, urns and books and very individual. More like Victorian holdovers. Crypts [similar to the Alpert one on the show] are old, dating from 1890-1920. They all had metal doors. [However, I still think Spike's looked wooden.]
