2010 in review meme
Snagged from pretty much everyone at this point, lol.
1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Oh, all sorts of fun things. Went to the hospital for the first time. Started taking all kinds of new medications. Started seeing a therapist.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't make resolutions. I'd just break them within a week anyway, so what's the point?
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yep, the wife of a childhood friend. And another of my friends is currently pregnant.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just the one I live in. :( I would certainly like to check more places off my list, but time + money + available travel buddies is a hard combo to come by.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
More of a social life. Of course, not being sick so much would probably help with that.
7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Hmm, nothing is particularly memorable. The dates, anyway. I remember some events, but the dates aren't important to me. I'm not exactly going to be marking the anniversary or anything.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving it.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't know. I try not to think about that very hard, because the things I'd come up with are undoubtedly things my therapist would tell me I should let go of. :)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Hahahahaha.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmm, my new laptop is pretty awesome.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Congress (though they redeemed themselves a little in the last couple weeks). The voting public. Certain segments of fandom. The leadership of the organization I work for. Me.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, tuition, and health insurance co-pays.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to Key West for spring break. Seeing [title of show] with Christi. Our musical mania trip to NYC. Christmas.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
Probably anything from Next to Normal.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder? Happier, partly due to not vomiting all the time, partly due to antidepressants.
Thinner or fatter? Fatter, almost entirely due to not vomiting all the time.
Richer or poorer? Poorer, since my rent went up but my salary didn't.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spent more time with my friends.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Crying.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my family.
21. Did you fall in love in 2010?
No.
23. How many one-night stands?
None.
24. What was your favourite TV program?
That actually aired this year? Being Erica, Mad Men, and Chuck, probably, though it's hard to narrow it down.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
It takes too much energy to hate people.
26. What was the best book you read?
Oh dear, I don't know. Probably either The Passage or Blackout/All Clear (which, yes, I realize I still need to write about).
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Next to Normal. :)
28. What did you want and get?
A new cell phone.
29. What did you want and not get?
The raise I was promised and the fellowship I applied for.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Haha, the only movie I actually saw in a theater was Up in the Air, which was on New Year's Day (apparently, this is becoming a tradition, because I saw Black Swan this year on New Year's.) Of the ones I Netflixed, I'd say The Hurt Locker and Carolina.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 26, and I celebrated it in Key West.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Just one? lol
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Honestly, as long as it fits me, we're golden. The range of sizes I have gone through in the last year is ridiculous.
34. What kept you sane?
Zoloft.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Well, Zachary Levi is my TV boyfriend. Christian Kane would be if he'd cut his hair. And Sebastian Pigott is my new James Marsters. :)
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
All of them? lol, it's kind of my job...
37. Who did you miss?
All my friends that I didn't get to see often because they don't live around here.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Jessie, one of my grad school friends.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:
Life sucks. Except when it doesn't.
