Damon Salvatore (P.S. - Check out this week's Entertainment Weekly - TVD's the cover story, and it apparently has an article on shippers - "the weirdest TV fans")
Because dude, seriously, those people who get invested in the romances that are in every movie and TV show ever, even when the movie or TV really didn't need a romance, those people? So freaking weird, man.
1. Damon/Elena, because I ship dysfunction like BURNING 2. Damon/Katherine, because it's fucking HOT 3. Damon-Stefan, because BROTP 4-EVA (plus he obvs loves Stefan the mostest)
Good GOD, tho. It'd be easier to list the people I DON'T ship him with.
I can't decide if I want to read that EW or if it would just make me mad...
1. Anya/Xander - yes, it was quite ugly there in S6, but I actually think they had more potential than the show allowed. I really liked seeing Xander's arc from taking Anya for granted to genuinely loving her, and I loved Anya's arc of "fucking relationships, how do they work?"
2. Anya/Spike - they really have more in common than anyone else, and I adore the little moments like their commiseration in WTWTA that draw on that.
3. Anya/Willow - because that spell did get kinda sexy. :) Plus, given how many decades Anya spent believing men were all jerks who deserved punishment, I would not have been the least surprised if she decided to give women a go. It would've been a very different Anya arc, but also quite interesting, I think.
2. Katherine/Stefan, although the longer the show goes on, the less interesting I find them, actually? Back in the beginning, I shipped them because I figured Stefan needed Katherine to get down with his bad self, but clearly he's doing that just fine on his own, lol. And there's not nearly as much conflict with them as with Kat/Damon. In fact, I might be talking myself out of this?
2b. Katherine/Elijah, because they totally had a thing back when she was human, and it's doubly awkward because obviously Elijah would rather be with Tatia OR Elena, but Katherine will do. :-P
3. Katherine/Alaric. Ooh, or Katherine/Jeremy. I'd say there's equal opportunity for dysfunction with either of them. :)
(Also, do you like how I sneakily gave you five ships in my top three? lol)
I don't have a lot of strong feelings about Faith. I can't say I actively ship her with anyone, although there are certain relationships (not necessarily romantic) that I think are really interesting and would've liked them to be explored more. So, that in mind:
1. Faith-Angel (and yet I still won't bother with the comics, lol) 2. Faith-Buffy 3. Faith/Xander - I would've liked to see some S7 conversation about the fact that Faith tried to rape and kill Xander... Or post-series, I think they'd be an interesting pair if they worked out their issues.
1. Elena/ever_neutral because she is your wife, after all. 2. Elena/me because I wish she was my wife. How do you feel about bigamy?
Okay for reals.
1. Elena/Damon - the more fucked-up it gets, THE MORE I CANNOT LOOK AWAY FROM THIS TRAINWRECK. DOOMED SHIP IS DOOOOOOMED.
2. Elena/Stefan, although I'm kind of dithering over this one. A few weeks ago, no question about it, given all that's happened this season. But now that Stefan's not crazy/evil anymore, they're starting to slip back into boring territory. I mean, there's still a TON of potential there, but I seem to ship them more as they are in my head (and your meta) and not so much what's actually on screen.
3. Elena/Elijah, which really only happened recently, lol. He's probably the most interesting non-Salvatore option for her right now (and even though he's also a vampire, I expect the dynamic would be VERY different from either Salvatore). Though I would not say no to Elena/Matt, either.
You know how I feel about E/D. Life-ruining fuckers. I hate them both.

Awwww. *g* I feel your ~dithering. Though... mine isn't actually about them becoming boring to me (again) so much as... that ship is 15 shades of problematic now (and tbh... they've always been)? And I don't trust the writers to be as honest about that as they are with E/D?? You know?
Hahaha, I know nothing about FNL fandom, but I'm guessing Lyla/Tim is popular? And I care not for that ship. So.
1. Lyla/Jason - I think they were very realistic in the way they tried to rush into marriage and realized they were moving in different direction, but I wish the show had focused more on the internal obstacles to their relationship, instead of making it a love triangle with Riggins. There was plenty of story to mine from them coming to terms with Street's paralysis and thinking about their future.
2. Lyla-Buddy, because it was complicated and messy and provided an interesting contrast to the Taylors.
3. Uhhh... I am struggling here, because it's not like Lyla had a lot of relationships. The Lyla-Tyra rivalry was kinda fun...
1. Giles/Jenny - OBVIOUS CHOICE IS OBVIOUS 2. Giles/Joyce - mainly because Buffy's response would be hilarious, and both of them need to get out more 3. Giles/Anya - in order for this to work, I think Xander/Anya couldn't have happened, because that makes it totally weird, but considering that she's a thousand-year-old demon? Yeah, Giles is way more her speed than teenager.
1. Lily/Marshall - OTP! Given the relative scarcity of stories about stable married couples, it's so refreshing that this show (which is ostensibly all about the chase) offers them as a contrast to Ted's unending search for love. 2. Lily-Robin - I really enjoy their friendship, though I would not object if it got sexy, lol. 3. Lily-Barney - I feel like she's able to hold him accountable for his shit in ways that Marshall and Ted simply aren't. I don't know if that's just her personality, or if the fact that she's a woman means she won't excuse his misogyny like they do.

And Anya and Spike had wonderful chemistry together, although I think I like them better as friends than in a shippy sense.
