Crushes
I'm almost out of post topics, so if you want to ask a question or suggest something for me to talk about, go here to do it.
scarlett2u asked, "Who was your first RL crush? Your first celebrity crush?"
Wow, that's a hard one. I've had so many crushes it's hard to remember. I guess my first RL crush was on a boy named Lee, in kindergarten. We lived on the same street. I was totally boy crazy as long as I can remember, but it was all silly writing notes to my friends about them and giggling about it at recess. Never actually went so far as to talk to the guys. But my first serious crush, like when I was old enough to date and actually do something about my crush, was freshman year of high school.

His name was Ryan, and he was a junior. He had a car, which was the coolest thing ever to a freshman. He also looked exactly like Joshua Jackson (when he was a blond). I decided I was going to be bold, and just out of the blue asked him out on a date. He was pretty flustered by that, but he asked for my number and said he'd call me. Which he did, and we agreed to go to Homecoming together, and he asked me to go to this party with him first to get to know each other better. The party was horribly awkward, he barely paid any attention to me, and this other girl was all over him the entire time (she later said to me, "Oh, I didn't realize you guys were there together," but I really didn't believe her). Then, about a week before Homecoming, I found out that he had a crush on some other girl, and wanted to ask her out, but he'd still go to the dance with me. Gee, thanks. Again, I got ignored all night, and then a year later, I ended up dating his best friend.
First celebrity crush... I think it was Devon Sawa. OMG. He was Casper (as in "the friendly ghost"). And probably other things, too, but that's the one that sticks out, lol. I also loved Jonathan Brandis around the same time. SeaQuest DSV was, like, my favorite show, and he was so unbelievably cute. No idea what happened to either one of them. Are they even still acting?
When I was in middle school, I decided it'd be a brilliant idea to wallpaper my bedroom with magazine pictures of hot actors. I only managed to do one section of one wall, but I had quite the collection. Eventually, I took them down, but I found the whole pile stuffed in the back of my closet a couple years ago, when I was moving out. Some of those guys, I had no idea who they were, just put them up because they were hot. Others, like Josh Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio, got multiple spots on the wall. My friend Sarah totally had dibs on marrying Leo, but Josh was all mine (which might explain the ill-advised Ryan crush).
For those who are curious, James Marsters never made it up on the wall (although I think David Boreanaz did, and Seth Green was definitely up there). In fact, when I was younger, I was one of those people who got him confused with James Marsden. It wasn't until I was in college, and my flatmate in London had a Spike/James calendar on her wall, that I even really knew who he was. (She, by the way, was devastated to find out he wasn't really British, and at some point he was replaced by Orlando Bloom.) I agreed he was hot, but it was another full year before I started watching Buffy and figured out what all the fuss was about.

And yes, Devon Sawa only played him for that ONE scene with the dance. But oh, how I swooned!

Sadly, Jonathan Brandis committed suicide a few years ago. I can't exactly remember when, but I found out by having a gossip fest with one of my friends about past celebrity crushes. He was one of ours, so we decided to look him up on imdb, and that's where we read about his death.
It still bothers me to think about it.

Devon Sawa was in Idle Hands (1999) with Seth Green and the very good (well I thought so) Final Destination (2000). *grins*
I had a wall like that!! I remember having Christian Slater and Brad Pitt on it and oh god I forgot who else.. :)

One of my friends wallpapered her entire bedroom with Backstreet Boys. That seemed excessive. At least I had some variety. :)
