Musical Sunday!

Raise your hands, how many of you watched Sesame Street as a kid? Wasn't it awesome? Crazy muppets living in harmony with human beings, coming together to teach us about life and the alphabet.

Now, how many of you wish there were a Sesame Street for grown-ups? A show to teach us how to cope with the realities of life after college, dating, working, and being an adult? Then Avenue Q is the show for you! It provides valuable life lessons like "everyone's a little bit racist," "the internet is for porn," and how to spell "schadenfreude." Plus - raunchy puppets!

I absolutely fell in love with the soundtrack for this show, before I'd ever even seen it performed. Watching it live is even more hysterical, although I admit it was a little awkward watching puppet porn with my mother.

This is one of my favorite songs, "It Sucks to Be Me."

I remember the first time I took my husband to see it, he hemmed and hawed and was like but I don't wanna see a musical with puppets. Now, whenever it comes to town, he's the first to buy tickets. LOL

We saw it again a few months ago and yes, I will agree, it was weird watching the porn with my mom sitting next to me. I had warned her and after the show, she said "Is that all? I was expecting giant penises the way you went on about it!"
