I don't know if it changes my perception of the scene. I haven't rewatched "Touched," but I imagine I'd feel the same about it. Even if we know the backstage machinations - that somebody had to write both speeches, and maybe the echo was intentional - in terms of the characters, Spike didn't hear Riley say it, so it's not like he's aping someone else's speech. They each came up with that on their own, so the fact that Riley said it first doesn't lessen Spike's sincerity.
