Ugh, it was perfect. Closure on all things that needed closure, yet open ended on minor points. I will have more coherent thoughts tomorrow for a post.
But the ending was an ending for the show, for the story, not just an ending for an ending's sake? Like, THIS was the follow through. This what what it was all going towards. It wasn't like so many shows where you get the idea that the writers were just sitting around and suddenly heard that this season was going to be the last and decided they had better kill everyone. There's nothing wrong with killing characters, but I get annoyed at death for death's sake. Walt's death was perfect. He died because it was the final episode, but also because that's where he was always headed.
