Galentine's Day: Elena Gilbert picspam
YOU GUYS. I have been so excited to post my Galentine's Day stuff, I COULD BARELY CONTAIN MYSELF. So I am starting a day early!
This one is for
semele. I'm... not entirely sure what to call it? Sort of a meta-shaped graphic thing?
Elena's defining character arc is her relationship with death: her own, her survivor's guilt in the wake of her loved ones' deaths, and the belief that she is doomed to destroy everything she touches. This is a story of how she comes to terms with grief, faces down her own death wish, and - above all - how she keeps going. She wants desperately to give up, but she doesn't really have a choice. She always survives, whether she wants to or not. She's alive, whether she deserves to be or not. So she gets out of bed every morning, pastes a smile on her face, and tries to convince herself that life is worth living.
